You have seen 日, 月 and 人 many times. Can you write them without looking? Reading a kanji and writing a kanji are two different skills, and if you never check the second one, your hand stops during the exam.
The kanji drill takes 79 characters and has you trace them, write them, answer questions and mark your own answers. Every unit is four pages. Only the readings you need now are listed — the ones N5 words actually use, with readings that belong to N4 words marked (N4). The jōyō table gives these 79 characters 288 readings; this book lists 159.
At the back there is stroke order for all 79, and a checklist with a box for read and a box for written. When every box is ticked, the book is finished. 8 units, 64 questions, 40 pages — and you can print any writing page again, as many times as you need.
